IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT VERISON OF WINDOWS YOU ARE RUNNING, FOLLOW THE Installation for Windows XP/Vista INSTRUCTIONS UNTIL YOU REACH STEP 10. AT STEP 10 IF YOU ARE PRMOTED WITH to “install Microsoft XML” SWITCH TO STEP 10 IN Installation for Windows 2000. Index A) Installation for Windows 2000 B) Installation for Windows XP/Vista C) Operation: (2000,XP,Vista) A) Installation for Windows 2000 1. Insert the CD in the drive (make sure the side that has a picture is pointing up). 2. Go to your desktop and double click on the ‘My Computer’ icon (usually located in the top left corner). 3. The ‘My Computer’ window will appear. 4. Double click on your CD drive icon, (It’s usually named [Sweater Designer (D:)] but 'D:' can also be any other letter, you will see a light bulb symbol on the drive being used by the CD). 5. Locate the file named setup, and double click its icon. 6. A setup welcome screen will appear, read the information then click on ‘Next’. 7. Review the license agreement, select the accept button then click on ‘Next’. 8. A screen will appear informing you that a desktop and a quick launch icon will be created. Read the information then click ‘Next’. 9. A new screen will appear informing you of the task that will be performed, review them then click ‘Install’. 10. A new screen will appear with information to install Microsoft XML SP 5, (This is not part of Sweater Designer but is required to be installed in order for Sweater Designer 1.0 to run properly), review the information then select ‘Next’. 11. Review the license agreement, then select the accept button and click on ‘Next’. 12. Enter User Name & Organization if applicable or leave default entries and click ‘Next’. 13. Click ‘Install’. 14. The ‘Installation complete’ screen will appear, select ‘Finish’ (Note: This is the end of the XML setup, but you are still required to carry on with the rest of Sweater Designer’s installation). 15. A new small screen will appear as the Divx installation start, (Divx will install some important information for the help videos to be played properly). 16. Select your language and click ‘OK’. 17. Read the welcome screen and click ‘Next’. 18. Review the license agreement and click on the agreement box then click ‘Next’. 19. Deselect every check box, except for ‘Divx codec’ as all the others are not required for the operation of Sweater Designer 1.0. 20. Select the destination folder or leave the default destination folder then click ‘Next’. 21. If you do not already have Yahoo! toolbar installed on your computer, setup will ask you whether you would like to install the Yahoo! Toolbar, it is NOT required for the operation of Sweater Designer 1.0, and is we recommend that you chose, ‘Do not install Yahoo! Toolbar’, after you have selected your choice click ‘Next’. 22. Setup will be provided with an option to submit your email address to receive the Divx newsletter, it's not necessary so just click ‘Next’ to continue. 23. When you reach the installation complete screen click ‘Close’. (This is the end of the Divx setup and now you will return to the final step of the Sweater Designer 1.0 installation). 24. Select whether you would like Sweater Designer 1.0 to be launched or not by leaving or un-checking the check box, then click ‘Finish’. 25. Congratulation you have completed the installation of Sweater Designer 1.0 B) Installation for Windows XP/Vista: 1. (If you can not locate ‘My computer’ in the start menu, check your desktop for a ‘My Computer’ icon and double click on it) 4. Double click on your CD drive icon, (It’s usually named [Sweater Designer (D:)] but 'D:' can also be any other letter, you will see a light bulb symbol on the drive being used by the CD). 5. Congratulation you have completed the installation of Sweater Designer 1.0 C) Operation: (2000,XP,Vista) 1. Insert the CD in the drive (make sure the side that has a picture is pointing up). 2. The software will not run unless the CD is in the drive. 3. You have two options to run Sweater Designer 1.0. 4. Option 1: Go to you desktop, locate the Sweater Designer 1.0 icon (which is a light bulb), then double click on it. 5. Option 2: Click on your start menu in the bottom left corner, go to ‘programs’ for Windows 2000), or ‘All programs’ for Windows XP/Vista. 6. Locate the Smartpatterns folder then click on it. 7. Under the Smartpatterns folder look for Sweater Designer 1.0 then click on it.
